Hello, I'm Yepicurus

But you can call me Yepi (or Peter, if we’re going by my government name)I'm:- A philosophical consultant, educator and guide- An interdisciplinary thinker, based in Toronto and shaped by a third culture upbringing- Trained in philosophy, psychology, law and anthropology from top schools including Stanford University and the London School of EconomicsI spent several years conducting psychosocial interviews with death row prisoners, and have painstakingly collected insights into the question "What does it mean to live a good life"?I'm someone who has personally overcome a lot of adversity in my life and so I'm not a detached armchair philosopher. This has contributed to making my philosophical counseling approach as grounded and empathetic as possible

This is my life story...

For many years, I moved through the world in a nihilistic haze. I was smart but apathetic, and nearly failed out of every school I attended. At the time, I didn’t realize I was numbing myself to a tumultuous childhood, identity confusion and a deep sense of existential despair. In college, I got into a near-fatal bus crash. This became a turning point in my life, and put me face-to-face with painful questions about meaning and mortality.Instead of dealing with these questions, I turned toward achievement as a coping mechanism. I graduated law school with honors, completed Master's degrees from the London School of Economics and Stanford University.Yet academic success did not resolve the deeper questions that were opened in the bus crash. As an interdisciplinary researcher, I conducted interviews with a hundred death row prisoners, which brought me directly back to many of the questions I was evading, but I still refused to face them directly.Eventually, the tension between outward achievement and inner life led to burnout and a profound existential collapse. After many dark nights of the soul, I integrated my existential suffering.I rebuilt my sense of being using philosophy, psychology, meditation and reconnecting with my intuition to restore balance to mind, body and spirit. I found my inner flame, and gave myself permission to stop feeling numb. I began to see life as a sacred adventure. Then I walked away from academia and toward my true calling: helping people discover greater meaning in their lives.Out of this journey emerged Yepicurus, one of the largest platforms dedicated to overcoming the world's meaning crisis, and my 1:1 Existential Consulting practice to guide people toward their inner wisdom.
